Report: Crime Rates At Lakeforest Mall Show Little Change

Four to six serious incidents per year occur at the Gaithersburg mall, according to the report.

The number of crimes occuring annually at Lakeforest Mall have remained about the same for a number of years, according to a report by The Gazette.

Since January 2010, four to six serious incidents per year—which include burglary, assault, robbery and carjacking—have occurred on mall property, according to data from the Gaithersburg Police Department cited in The Gazette report.

“We do have a lot of officers work there part-time, in collaboration with mall security,” in an effort to curb incidents like those, Gaithersburg police Officer Dan Lane said, according to the report.
