City leaders celebrated the opening of the extension of Teachers Way on Thursday, Dec. 5.  The half-mile extension connects Girard Street and North Summit Ave. The project cost $2.1 million, funded in part by federal funds. The developers of the new Archstone apartment community coordinated, constructed and funded a portion  of the road, city officials said.
