Trash Truck Dumps Burning Garbage In Street In Montgomery County

DERWOOD, MD — Roads were closed in Derwood after a trash truck dumped a huge pile of burning garbage in the middle of the street Thursday morning, officials said.

Firefighters responded to Shady Grove Road and Epsilon Drive for the report of a vehicle fire at about 9 a.m., Montgomery County Fire & EMS Spokesperson Pete Piringer said.

Responders extinguished the debris and trash on fire, which blocked some lanes in the area. Officials have not yet said what caused the fire.
