GERMANTOWN, MD — A man was killed after he was thrown from his car during a single-car crash in Germantown around 11:30 p.m. Thursday.

Malcolm Alexander Gardner, 29, was driving around a corner on Frederick Road approaching Wheatfield Drive when he lost control of his car, crossed the median, hit a tree and was thrown from his car, Montgomery County Police said. Gardner was the only person in his car, according to authorities.

Gardner, a Montgomery Village resident, was taken to the hospital where he died, police said.
