Man Fatally Struck By Train In Montgomery County

Police said the collision happened Tuesday on Great Seneca Highway in Germantown.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — A man is dead after authorities said he was hit by a train in Montgomery County on Tuesday.

According to police, the man was struck on Great Seneca Highway in Germantown just before 4:20 p.m.

Montgomery County Fire & Rescue radio transmissions, obtained by Bethesda Magazine, stated that the incident prompted the train to stop and authorities to close the tracks.

Around 4:30 p.m., crews reported the victim was a “priority four" and was not trapped or pinned beneath the train.

In a statement shared on social media, the Maryland Transit Administration confirmed that service on the MARC Brunswick Line was suspended due to police activity and that Brunswick Line trains were holding at MARC stations.
