Germantown Man Killed In Single-Car Crash In Damascus
Montgomery County police said the collision occurred shortly after 4 a.m. Sunday.

DAMASCUS, MD — A Germantown man is dead following a single-car crash in Damascus, authorities said.
Montgomery County police said the collision occurred shortly after 4 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Ridge Road and Kings Valley Road.
When police arrived, they discovered a gray 2013 Honda Civic had left the roadway, struck a fire hydrant and overturned after hitting an embankment. The driver, identified as 27-year-old Bilcher Ronaldino Huinil Lopez, was found in the roadway after he was ejected from the car.

Lopez was the only person inside the vehicle, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to a preliminary investigation, police said the Honda was traveling southbound when the driver lost control. Evidence at the scene suggested alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the crash.
