2 Injured When Car Crashes Into Glen Burnie Doctor's Office

Anne Arundel County police said the vehicle had driven into the building, and at least two people were struck and possibly trapped.

GLEN BURNIE, MD — Two people were injured Wednesday when a car crashed into a Glen Burnie doctor's office, according to police.

Emergency personnel responded to the collision at Maryland Primary Care Physicians at 7711 Quarterfield Rd. around 3:30 p.m., according to Anne Arundel County police. Callers told police that a vehicle had driven into the building and at least two people were struck and possibly trapped.

When police arrived, they discovered that a red Toyota Highlander had driven through the front of the clinic and hit two people in the waiting room.

First responders rendered aid to the individuals, one of whom was pinned to a wall in the building while the other was underneath the vehicle, fire department spokesperson Sheldon Neal told The Baltimore Banner.

Both individuals were taken to the hospital, where they were in stable condition.

According to police, the vehicle was pulling into a parking space directly in front of the building when the driver accelerated, causing the SUV to drive through the front of the building into the waiting area.

The driver, a 78-year-old woman from Glen Burnie, was not injured. She was issued citations for negligent driving and for failing to reduce speed to avoid a collision.
