B-W Parkway Project Resumes Friday Night

Hurricane Sandy delayed a project that was scheduled to be complete in October.

A section of the Baltimore-Washington Parkway, MD-295, in Linthicum will be shut down on Friday night and Saturday night, completing an October project delayed by Hurricane Sandy, according to a statement from the Maryland State Highway Administration.

Traffic crews will detour vehicles into single lanes during overnight hours, using the ramps from West Nursery Road, but SHA is telling drivers to use other routes.

"We’ve had project adjustments and weather delays, however the contractor and crews remain eager,” said SHA Administrator Melinda B. Peters.  “We appreciate the patience of our local business partners and area residents."

According to the SHA, crews are removing the northbound bridge on West Nursery Road overpassing MD-295 on Friday night, and they will replace it with a preassembled bridge on Saturday night.

SHA announced the following closures of MD-295:

Friday, Nov. 2

  • One lane of MD-295 closed in each direction at 8 p.m.
  • All lanes of MD-295 closed in both directions at 10 p.m.
  • All lanes of MD-295 reopened Saturday at approximately 10 a.m.
