Boyfriend Shoots Sleeping Girlfriend On July 4 In Anne Arundel County: Police
A boyfriend shot his sleeping girlfriend on Independence Day, Anne Arundel County police said. The couple was arguing before bed.

GLEN BURNIE, MD — A Glen Burnie man shot his sleeping girlfriend on the 4th of July, authorities said.
Police said they arrested the suspect, identified as 39-year-old Jason Shelven Gasaway. Officers expect the victim to survive.
Authorities said they were called to the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday to investigate a hospitalized shooting victim.

Police said the victim reported that she got into an argument with her boyfriend, who she lives with, before falling asleep at their home in the 300 block of Highland Drive.
The victim awoke to a loud bang and felt pain, officers said.

Authorities said the suspect fled and the victim drove herself to the hospital.
The Anne Arundel County Police Department said it found the suspect near Crain Highway and Mayo Road.
Officers said they charged the suspect accordingly.
