Cement Truck Overturns Near Ritchie Highway, Beltway

The truck driver was transported to Shock Trauma, but is expected to survive.

A cement truck crash in Glen Burnie on Monday sent a man to Shock Trauma, according to Anne Arundel County fire officials.

At approximately noon on Monday, a cement truck overturned near Ritchie Highway and the entrance to I-695, according to Division Chief Keith Swindle.

The crash trapped the truck driver inside the vehicle, according to Swindle. Emergency crews extricated the man and transported him to Shock Trauma with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Police and fire officials have not specified what caused the truck to overturn.
