Glen Burnie:

A woman who was stabbed Sunday night in Glen Burnie was transported to the hospital in serious and life-threatening condition where she was stabilized and transferred to Shock Trauma for surgery, police and fire officials said.

According to police, preliminary investigation leads officers to believe the incident is not a random act of violence.

According to Anne Arundel County Fire spokesman Lt. Clifford Kooser, fire and EMS officials received a call at about 8:34 p.m. Sunday requesting medical assistance in the 400 block of Pamela Road. Police also were dispatched to the scene, said Anne Arundel County Police spokesman Justin Mulcahy.

Once on the scene, police found a woman who is believed to be in her early 20s, on the ground in front of an apartment building bleeding from an "upper extremity" and suffering from apparent lacerations, police said.

Medics transported the woman to the where the victim was in serious and life-threatening condition as of 9 p.m., Kooser said. She was stabilized and transferred to the Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for surgery, Mulcahy said.

Officers searched the area but were unable to locate a suspect, police said. The incident remains under investigation.

Glen Burnie: Armed robbery

Two men robbed the located in the 300 block of Crain Highway in Glen Burnie, police said.

According to police, employees of the store told officers that two men, one armed with a handgun, entered Pizza Boli's and demanded money. The men obtained an undisclosed amount of money from the register before taking the wallets and cell phones of the employees in the store before running from the scene, police said.

Police said officers and a K-9 unit searched the area, but were unable to locate the men.

Glen Burnie:

, smoke or water damage Friday morning after a three-alarm fire worked its way through a condominium building in the Cromwell Fountain development.

As of 12:40 p.m., no injuries had been reported at the fire that occurred at 6608 Rapid Water Way, said Lt. Keith Hamilton, spokesman for the Anne Arundel County Fire Department.

According to Hamilton, multiple calls came in at about 10:54 a.m. to report the fire and firefighters were on the scene within minutes. Once on the scene, fire personnel called for a second and then a third alarm, bringing 72 firefighters from Anne Arundel County, Baltimore City and the BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport, Hamilton said.

The initial investigation showed that the fire started in a third-floor apartment, Hamilton said. The fire was officially listed as being under control at 1:15 p.m.

As of 1:15 p.m., firefighters were still on the scene securing the structure to make sure no debris falls from the building, causing injuries, Hamilton said. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Fire officials were not expected to have an estimate on damages until late Friday night, Hamilton said.

American Red Cross was requested to assist the displaced families.

Glen Burnie/Silver Spring:

A man was arrested Tuesday in Silver Spring in connection with a shootingย last month in the parking lot of Marley Station Mall, according to police, who say the incident was drug related.

Christopher Royal Gayle, 22, was arrested and charged with attempted first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, illegal possession of a handgun, use of a gun in the commission of a felony and reckless endangerment. He was arrested with the assistance of Montgomery County Police.

According to court records, Gayle is listed as a Lanham resident.

The investigation is ongoing as police are working to locate a second suspect.

Ricky Johnson, 23, of Snow Hill was shot twice in the upper torso March 29 in the parking lot of Marley Station Mall. He has since been released from the hospital, according to Anne Arundel County Police spokesman Justin Mulcahy.

Through investigation and evidence collected, including drugs that Mulcahy acknowledged were recovered from the scene, police determined the incident was drug related.

Police noted that none of the peopleย involved were fromย Anne Arundel County and the Marley Station Mall was chosen only as a meeting point.

A preliminary hearing for Gayle is scheduled for May 11, according to court records.

According to court records, a 2008 case against Johnson, where he pleaded guilty to possession of narcotics with the intent to distribute, was reopened March 11 due to violation of probation. He is scheduled to appear in court for a violation of probation hearing July 11.

Glen Burnie: Strong arm robbery arrest

Police arrested a Glen Burnie man April 8 in connection with an April 3 strong arm robbery.

Christopher Alan Ferrara , 27, was arrested and charged with armed robbery, robbery, first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, possession of a deadly weapon and theft.

On April 3, a 16-year-old boy was robbed on the Baltimore and Annapolis Bike Trail in Glen Burnie on Sunday afternoon, police said.

According to police, the boy was walking on the trail in the 7400 block of Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard when Ferrara approached him and struck up a conversation before grabbing him and stealing some cigarettes from the victimโ€™s pocket. Ferrara then ran south on the trail toward New Jersey Avenue, police said.
