Anne Arundel County Police arrested a Glen Burnie man Friday in connection with a robbery in Crownsville.

Police said a 27-year-old Glen Burnie man snatched an envelope full of cash from a 68-year-old-man as he sat in his car in front of his home.

Police said the victim had returned home to the 1600 block of Crownsville Road at about 12:50 p.m. Friday after stopping at a bank on West Street.

According to the police report, Devin Lascola, 27, of Glen Burnie walked up to the man still sitting in his car and asked for directions.

Police said Lascola then reached inside and grabbed an envelope containing money from the man’s front shirt pocket. The man struggled and Lascola eventually ran away with the money.

Detectives searched the area, but could not find the man. Through further investigation, detectives said they found information that led them to believe Lascola had robbed the man.

They also said they determined he was at Tires Plus on Hudson Street in Parole. Police said they took a witness to the tire shop, where they identified Lascola as the man who stole the envelope.

The stolen money was recovered there, police said.

Lascola was charged with robbery and theft.

Arnold:

Anne Arundel County detectives arrested a man Tuesday morning after an investigation that began in Glen Burnie led them to Arnold, police said.

Jonathan Grant Matthews, 24, of Arnold was charged with three counts of distribution of heroin, possession of a firearm during a drug crime and other drug and gun charges.

According to a police press release, Northern District detectives and members of the special operation section served a "no-knock" warrant at about 10 a.m. Tuesday in the 200 block of St. Antons Way in Arnold after an investigation into drug activity.

Detectives confiscated 78 capsules of suspected heroin, a .38-caliber handgun, five suspected Suboxone pills, more than $4,000 in cash and drug paraphernalia.

Glen Burnie: Accident

A car crashed into a building, taking out the window of a first-floor office June 26, fire officials said.

The car crashed into the Empire Towers building located at Ritchie Highway and 6th Avenue, Northeast, around 8:15 p.m., damaging the window of a State Farm office. The driver was treated for minor injuries at Baltimore Washington Medical Center.

Glen Burnie: Accident

A 29-year-old woman was sent to the hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries after her SUV rolled over on the exit ramp from I-97 to Dorsey Road around 9:55 a.m. June 21. She was taken to the Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, according to Lt. Cliff Kooser, Anne Arundel County Fire Department spokesman.

Brooklyn Park:

A 17-year-old Brooklyn Park girl is facing kidnapping charges after she allegedly took a 4-year-old girl from her mother and drove recklessly through Baltimore, according to Anne Arundel County Police.

Tabatha Ann Gee of the 5200 block of Wasena Avenue was charged as an adult with kidnapping, abduction and reckless endangerment, a county police news release said.

The incident was reported to be a child custody dispute and police said the girl was returned to her mother without any injuries. The child's mother, a 24-year-old from Baltimore, told police that Gee is the girlfriend of the child's father and that she took the girl without her permission.

Police report that the child's mother followed Gee until she eventually returned to Brooklyn Park, where she was met by officers.

Brooklyn Park: Robbery

A Brooklyn Park man was robbed Thursday in the area of 11th Avenue and Brookwood Road.

According to a police report, officers responded to the 5100 block of Ritchie Highway in Brooklyn Park at about 12:13 a.m. for a reported robbery. Once on the scene, officers spoke with a 53-year-old man who said he had been assaulted and robbed in the area of 11th Avenue and Brookwood Road by two men who demanded he give them his wallet.

The victim refused and the men pushed and punched him several times until he fell to the ground when they kicked him before taking his wallet from his pocket, according to police. The men ran from the scene on Brookwood Road in the direction of Baltimore, police said.

The victim was taken to Harbor Hospital to be treated for injuries that were not life-threatening.

Brooklyn Park: Robbery

Two teenage girls were robbed June 23 in the area of Morgan Road and 8th Avenue in Brooklyn Park, police said.

According to a press release, police responded to Brooklyn Park at about 9:25 p.m. and spoke with two girls—ages 16 and 17. The victims said two young women approached them and one woman asked to borrow a cell phone.

While the first woman used the phone, the second woman grabbed the 17-year-old’s purse and took it from her. Both women then got into a silver or gold four-door Toyota, possibly a Corolla or Camry, and drove northbound through the alley from 8th Avenue.

Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the women.

Glen Burnie: Robbery

A 20-year-old man was robbed in the 7500 block of Whaler Court in Glen Burnie, police said.

According to a press release, officers responded to Whaler Court at about 7:40 p.m. for a reported robbery. Once on the scene, officers spoke with the man who said two teenage boys approached him and punched him in the face before stealing an undisclosed amount of case and an iPod Touch.

The teens ran toward Hiddenbrook Apartments, police said. Officers and a K-9 unit searched the area but were unable to locate the teens. The victim was taken to an area hospital for precautionary reasons, police said.

Glen Burnie: Robbery

An 80-year-old Glen Burnie woman was robbed June 21 as she waited in her front yard for a ride, police said.

According to a press release, officers responded to the 500 block of Amberly Road at about noon when they spoke with the woman who said a man approached her while she sat in her front yard. The woman said the man “aggressively grabbed” an undisclosed amount of cash from her hand while she sat in front of her home. She was not hurt during the incident, police said.

The man then ran toward Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard. Officers and a K-9 unit searched the area but were unable to locate the man.
