Glen Burnie: Armed robbery

Two men robbed a Glen Burnie 7-Eleven early Tuesday morning, police said.

According to police, officers responded to the store located in the 700 block of Greenway Southeast for a reported robbery. Once on the scene, officers spoke with the clerk who said a man entered the store, pulled out a handgun and demanded money from the registers. The man took an undisclosed amount of money from the registers and left the store.

The clerk said a second man was standing outside the store and both men ran from the area in an unknown direction. Officers and a K-9 unit searched the area but were unable to find the men, police said.

Brooklyn Park:

A Brooklyn Park man shot and killed his wife and her two teenage children Sunday morning before taking his own life, police said.

According to police, a woman who said she was concerned about the well-being of her son, Kelly Thompson, 33, and his family members called police to his home on Wood Street in Brooklyn Park. When officers arrived and met with the woman, they heard a single gunshot come from inside the home, said Anne Arundel County Police Department spokesman Lt. J.D. Batten.

Batten said officers immediately entered the home to prevent further injuries if someone was actively shooting inside. Instead, police found the bodies of Nina Thompson, 34; her children, Treshawn and Taishawn Pugh, 15-year-old twins; and Kelly Thompson, who was not the twins’ biological father.

Friends, relatives and neighbors held a to remember the family.

Glen Burnie:

Police are reminding residents to stay alert after two reported armed robberies occurred within minutes of each other early Sunday morning near the Baltimore and Annapolis Trail.

According to a police press release, officers responded to the area of Aquahart Road and Greenway at about 12:20 a.m. Sunday for a reported armed robbery.

Officers spoke with a 27-year-old man who said he was robbed as he walked along a parking lot in the area. While speaking with the man, a 19-year-old man approached officers and said a man tried to rob him along the B&A Trail near Harundale Plaza. Police learned that the second victim was robbed shortly after the first victim.

In both incidents, the man told the victims he had a weapon and threatened to shoot them if they didn't give him their belongings. The suspect took the first victim's wallet but was unable to take anything from the second victim. The man then ran south on the B&A Trail.

Officers, a K-9 unit and an aviation unit searched the area but were unable to find the man.

Linthicum: Armed robbery

A man robbed a Linthicum BP gas station at gunpoint Friday afternoon, police said.

According to a police press release, officers responded to the 7000 block of Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard in Linthicum at about 12:20 p.m. for a reported armed robbery.

Once on the scene, officers spoke with the clerk who said that a man entered the store, approach him, pulled out a handgun and demanded money. The clerk said he complied and the man took and undisclosed amount of cash from the register and ran from the scene heading south toward the Burwood Village Plaza.

Officers and a K-9 unit searched the area but were unable to find the man, police said.
