Department Investigating Monday Fire in Glen Burnie

A building fire caused $10,000 in damages, according to fire officials.

A building fire in Glen Burnie on Monday evening required a second alarm and caused $10,000 in damages, according to the Anne Arundel County Fire Department.

At approximately 5:30 p.m., firefighters responded to a vacant building in the 400 block of Crain Highway North, for a fire in the second floor. Crews requested a second alarm, bringing about 50 additional firefighters to the scene.

Unsafe conditions forced crews to work on the fire from outside of the building. Crews had the fire under control by 6:30 p.m.

The fire department is investigating the cause of the fire. No one was injured from the blaze.
