Electrical Fire Claims Single-Family House on New Jersey Avenue
The accidental, one-alarm fire displaced six Glen Burnie residents, fire officials said.

Six people were displaced from their home after an electrical fire in the 300 block of New Jersey Avenue Northeast on Thursday, fire officials said.
The fire started around 6:50 p.m. and it took 25 firefighters 15 minutes to get the one-alarm fire under control. The residents of the two-story single-family house were home at the time and all were able to escape without injury. They were assisted by the Red Cross.
The fire, which caused about $75,000 in damage, was accidental and caused by an overheated extension cord plugged into an air conditioner, according to fire officials.
