Gazette: Charges Dropped Against Students

Prosecutors said they had insufficient evidence against a former North County wrestler and two co-defendants, according to the Gazette.

County prosecutors said they did not have enough evidence to try James Patrick Downey III and two of his former North County High School classmates and dropped the charges from a September 2010 robbery and assault, according to Maryland Gazette's Heather Rawlyk.

Downey, 18, and two friends, Jonathan Hart, 18, and Danny McGee, 17, robbed a 16-year-old boy Sept. 20 at about 11 p.m. on Ferndale Road, the Gazette reported.

According to the Gazette, Downey still faces charges of first-degree assault in two separate incidents in Baltimore.
