Glen Burnie Man Arrested in Connection With Assault at Pasadena Safeway
Erik Smith, 36, of Glen Burnie was arrested after police said he assaulted a man with his car at Safeway on Mountain Road in Pasadena.

A Glen Burnie man was arrested after police said he assaulted a 43-year-old man with his Volkswagen Jetta Sunday afternoon at Safeway on Mountain Road in Pasadena.
According to a police press release, officers arrived at the grocery store located in the 4200 block of Mountain Road at about 3:40 p.m.
Once on the scene they spoke with the victim who said Erik Smith, 36, accelerated his car toward him in the parking lot at Safeway, hitting him with the car's mirror after the victim jumped out of the way.

Police said the man yelled at Smith and Smith then stopped the car, backed up and accelerated toward the man again. The man was not hit a second time, but police said Smith hit a parked vehicle before parking his Jetta and entering the Safeway.
Police entered the store and located and arrested Smith, who was charged with first- and second-degree assault along with multiple traffic violations.
