Motorcyclist Dies After North County Crash: Police

A Glen Burnie motorcyclist died after a Curtis Bay crash, police said. He was 21 years old.

CURTIS BAY, MD — A motorcyclist died after a Wednesday crash in Curtis Bay, police said.

Officers identified the victim as 21-year-old Shawn Michael Lilly of Glen Burnie.

The crash happened around 4 p.m. at Fort Smallwood Road and Energy Parkway, authorities said.

Police said a 2022 Toyota 4Runner SUV was heading north on Fort Smallwood Road and turning left onto Energy Parkway.

Lilly was riding a 2022 Suzuki GSX-R600 motorcycle south on Fort Smallwood Road and approaching the same intersection, officers said.

Authorities said the SUV and the motorcycle collided.

The motorcycle then hit a 2023 Acura TLX sedan that was traveling east on Energy Parkway, police said.

Medics took the motorcyclist to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore with life-threatening injuries, officers said.

Authorities said Lilly was pronounced dead soon after.

The other two drivers were not hurt.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department is still investigating.

Officers did not speculate who was at fault.
