Glen Burnie Says Goodbye to Carnival, Hello to Bunnies

As Boy Scout Troop 725 worked to take down the stands on the Glen Burnie Carnival grounds, they discovered a nest of recently-born bunnies.

Boy Scout Troop 725, who helped to set up and take down the booths at the , came across a surprise Tuesday evening as they broke down the booth that housed the hot dog and hanging basket stands—a nest of baby bunnies.

Troop members said Scoutmaster Bill Bierman almost stepped on the nest when he noticed a bunny on his boot. At least three bunnies were visable in the nest as scouts gathered around to take pictures on their camera phones.

"It's the first birth after the carnival," said Allison Bierman, troop committe chairwoman.

President Barbara Moeller thanked the hundreds of volunteers who helped with this year's carnival.

"We had a very, very successful carnival. We were hit with three nights of rain ... but we were fortunate enough to make money for our community," she said at the group's monthly general meeting Tuesday night. "Everyone that worked—or just came to buy a —I just want to thank you."
