Health Department, Patient First Urge Flu Vaccinations
With the seasonal flu hitting Maryland last month, the Anne Arundel County Department of Health and Patient First both urge Glen Burnie-area residents to get their flu shot.

The Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygeine (DHMH) reported the first cases of season influenza in the last week of December—where two were hospitalized with flu-related illness.
Of the 26 samples submitted to DHMH for testing, one was found to be positive for influenza, according to the state's Flu Watch website.
The Anne Arundel County Department of Health and Patient First both are encouraging residents to get their season flu vaccine if they have not already.

"The Anne Arundel County Department of Health continues to hold free weekly walk-in flu clinics and schedule appointments at our Glen Burnie and Parole Health Centers," said health department spokeswoman Elin Jones in an email.
The clinics at the on A Street from 8:30-11:30 a.m. and 1-3 p.m.

on Ritchie Highway also is offering the fast-track anytime flu shot program from 8 a.m.-10 p.m. daily.
Fast track flu shots at Patient First are for people who are not allergic to eggs, who do not wish to see a physician, and who are at least 4 years old.
"If Patient First participates with your insurer, you will be responsible only for your co-pay. Cost for self-pay is $27," according to a press release from Patient First.
