Many parents have experienced itโyour child is having a full-blown temper tantrum, whether it be at home or in public.
According to KidsHealth.org, temper tantrums range from whining and crying to screaming, kicking, hitting, and breath holding. They're equally common in boys and girls and usually occur between the ages of 1 to 3, according to the site.
KidsHealth.org suggests that no matter the situation when dealing with a tantrum the most important thing to do is to keep cool. The site suggests parents try to determine what it is that has caused the tantrum and, if the child is not in jeopardy of hurting him or herself, simply ignore the tantrum and go on with your activities while keeping your child in sight.
