Man Fatally Shot Outside Dietrich’s Tavern

A 31-year-old man was shot outside the tavern in the parking lot and later died, according to police.

Police are actively investigating the homicide of a 31-year-old man who suffered multiple gunshot wounds and died Sunday night in Glen Burnie.

According to Anne Arundel County police, an unknown shooter killed 31-year-old Sir Keith English Queen Jones in a parking lot outside of Dietrich’s Tavern, located in the 7300 block of Furnace Branch Road East.

At about 5:21 p.m. Sunday, police received a call for a reported shooting at the tavern. Upon arrival, officers found Jones suffering from gunshot wounds to his upper and lower torso, police said. Paramedics transported Jones to Baltimore Washington Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.

Jones was a longtime resident of Anne Arundel County but recently lived in Pennsylvania, according to a police press release.

His activity prior to the shooting is still under investigation, police said.

The homicide is the second since 2010 to occur in or near Dietrich's Tavern. Police said a man shot another man with a rifle in December 2010 and pleaded guilty to charges earlier this year.
