Patch Whiz Kid of the Week: Carly Brukiewa
Carly has gotten straight A's throughout third grade and for the first three grading periods of fourth grade.

- Whiz Kidโs Accomplishment: Carly, a fourth grader at Point Pleasant Elementary, has had straight A's for the past seven marking periods. Additionally, Carly testified before the County Council and the Board of Education in an effort to secure funding for her school.
- Whiz Kidโs Key to Awesomeness: "Carly loves to read and has high goals," said Fred Fontz III, a substitute teacher at Point Pleasant who has taught Carly before. "When she sets a goal, she works hard to reach it."
Carly wants to practice family law when she gets older and believes the best way to do that is to get straight A's, Fontz said.
"When I make Principal's Honor Roll I'm very proud of myself. I do all my homework and study for my test. Paying attention in school is important," Carly said. "Speaking at the County Council was important and a bit out of my comfort zone. I thought I could help make a difference. It was cool meeting [County Councilman John J.] Grasso."
