Patch Whiz Kids of the Week: North County High School Seniors
Seniors from North County High School received a total of $7.1 million in scholarship offers—more than quadruple the amount offered last year.

- Whiz Kids' Key to Awesomeness: North County seniors recieved $5.4 million more in scholarship offers than the class of 2010.
“In addition to having an outstanding senior class this year, we set very high goals and clear expectations for administrators and counselors to meet individually with every senior to raise expectations and increase student participation in applying for scholarships,” said North County Principal Bill Heiser in a press release. “Our team believes that every one of our students has the capacity for greatness, and this is proof of that.”
Some of the school's top scholarship recipients were:
Alexandria Thomas—awarded more than $1 million in scholarhips and was accepted and will be attending the Naval Academy.
Julian Lane—will attend Johns Hopkins University on a full scholarhip and received more than $730,000 in scholarship offers.
Joey Landgraf—awarded more than $94,000 in scholarships and will attend the University of Maryland, College Park.
