Patch Whiz Kids of the Week: Outback Steakhouse Scholarship Recipients
Nine students from Glen Burnie and North County high schools recently received $1,000 scholarships from Outback Steakhouse.
- Whiz Kids' Names: Jocsa Cortes, (GBHS); Ayonche Clash, (GBHS); Devin Blocker, GBHS; Pat Carey, NCHS; Lena Fink, GBHS; Brooke Mackall, GBHS; Jasmine Rost-Wilson, GBHS; Bret Jacob, NCHS; and Shelby Brooks, NCHS. All students are members of the class of 2011.
- Whiz Kids' Accomplishment: All were recipients of $1,000 Outback Steakhouse Scholarships.
- Whiz Kids' Key to Awesomeness: Each spring Outback Steakhouse awards $1,000 scholarships to outstanding seniors at Glen Burnie and North County high schools, said spokeswoman Michelle Peifer. Applicants must write an essay and winners are determined by each school's Business Advisory Board.
This year Outback awarded nine $1,000 scholarships to students who will attending schools including Stevenson University, McDaniel College, Anne Arundel Community College, Frostburg State University and University of North Carolina, Charlotte.
