Pedestrian Hit by Truck Near Mountain and Freetown Roads

A man wearing dark clothing was hit by a landscaping truck as he crossed the street Wednesday night, police said.

A man was hit by a landscaping truck at about 6:40 p.m. Wednesday as he crossed the street in the area of Mountain and Freetown roads in Glen Burnie, police said.

The man was wearing dark clothes and was not in a crosswalk, according to Anne Arundel County Police Lt. Michael Brothers. Brothers said the driver stayed at the scene of the accident and that officers from the traffic safety unit were investigating the incident.

According to Anne Arundel County Fire spokesman Chief Michael Cox, the victim suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries and was taken by ambulance to the Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.

The man's exact age was not yet known.
