Business and community members joined North County students, parents and staff Wednesday as they launched the International Trade, Transportation and Tourism (IT3) signature program.

Community and business stakeholders gathered at North County High School Wednesday to celebrate the kickoff of the schoolโ€™s International Trade, Transportation and Tourism (IT3) Signature Program.

The program was created in an effort to offer students thematic courses and co-curricular opportunities that are challenging, workforce relevant and may include technical, community college and/or four-year college pathways, according to the schoolโ€™s website.

โ€œThree years ago we determined the unique needs of our community,โ€ said North County principal William Heiser. โ€œThe kickoff of the IT3 Signature Program positions us to create better career opportunities for our students.โ€

โ€œI only wish I could be part of IT3 as a student,โ€ he said during the kickoff event. โ€œI believe in this program so much that I know I will be back as a business partner.โ€
