Police issued a warrant for Juan Adrien Perez, 27, but revoked it after investigation ruled him out as a suspect, according to a police press release.

Glen Burnie Patch received an anonymous call Monday night from a reader who stated that Perez was not the man involved in the hit-and-run. Patch spoke with police who said on Tuesday morning that at the time they had no reason to believe the information they provided was incorrect.

Officers responded to the 200 block of 8th Avenue NW in Glen Burnie shortly before 10 a.m. Sunday for a reported accident with injuries.

Officers spoke with the 48-year-old driver of a white Dodge Caravan who was driving east on 8th Avenue near Mary Wagner Lane when he said a red 1996 Acura coupe that was driving west on 8th Avenue did not stay to the right of the center lane and hit the Caravan head on.

At that point, the man said the driver got out of the Acura and ran away while the car's passengers stayed on the scene.

An 8-month-old infant riding in the Acura was taken to the Baltimore Washington Medical Center for precautionary purposes, police said, and a 43-year-old woman, who was in the Caravan, was taken to the Schock Trauma Center in Baltimore to be treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Officers and a K-9 unit searched the area but were unable to locate the man, police said.

The investigation is ongoing at this time and the release said officers examine the information initially provided by witnesses at the scene. Police urge anyone with information on the accident to contact the Northern District at 410-222-6135.
