Police: Third Robbery in a Month at Bank of Glen Burnie

County police said it is unknown if the series of incidents are related.

Police are investigating the third robbery at a branch of the Bank of Glen Burnie within a month.

Anne Arundel County police responded Saturday to the Bank of Glen  Burnie branch at 101 Crain Highway for a report of a robbery.

Witnesses said a black female wearing a green baseball cap entered the bank, passed a note to a teller saying that she wanted cash. She was given an unknown amount of currency before leaving the building in the direction of Central Avenue, according to police.

The suspect is described as a black female, 40-50 years old, approximately 150 pounds, and with hair in long braids pulled back into a pony tail.

It is the third robbery of its kind at the bank branch in September.

On Sept. 17, Anne Arundel County police said a man robbed the Bank of Glen Burnie, located at 1221 Generals Highway in Crownsville.

On Sept. 13, police said a woman robbed the Bank of Glen Burnie located at 101 Crain Highway in Glen Burnie. The female suspect handed a teller a note demanding money, and she left with an undetermined amount of currency.

Anne Arundel County police spokesman T.J. Smith said the robberies are similar, but stopped short of saying they were linked.
