Once on the scene, officers found Pfaff suffering from an apparent stab wound to his upper torso. They also found Amonica suffering from minor cuts, police said. Both were taken to the Shock Trauma Center where Pfaff later died from his injuries.

After preliminary investigation, police said Pfaff and Amonica were arguing behind the home where they lived together and the argument escalated and became physical. Police said that at some point they both entered the home and Amonica stabbed Pfaff.

Police said they do not know if Amonica's injuries were defensive or self inflicted, but the incident is being investigated as a domestic incident.
