Post: Lawmakers Move Toward Putting In-State Tuition Law to Public Vote
Opponents of the law that granted in-state tuition rates to illegal immigrant students took a step toward holding a statewide referendum on the law, the Washington Post reported.

As John Wagner with the Washington Post reported Tuesday, Maryland lawmakers, including District 31 Delegates Nic Kipke (R-Pasadena) and Steve Schuh (R-Gibson Island), submitted a petition that would put the law that granted in-state tuition rates to illegal immigrant students up to a public vote.
The lawmakers turned in about 62,000 signatures late Tuesday night, according to Kipke's Facebook page. In order to put the law, also known as the DREAM Act, up to a vote by the public, opponents need to submit 55,736 by June 30, according to the Post.
