Two-Car Accident on I-97 Sends Man to Hospital

Rainy conditions caused a two-car accident on Interstate 97 northbound Friday, shutting down the off-ramp to Dorsey Road and sending a man to the Shock Trauma Center, police said.

A man in his early 20s was taken to the Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore after he lost control of his Volkswagen and was struck by an SUV Monday, police said.

According to Maryland State Police Trooper David Parsons, at about 4:08 p.m. the driver of the Volkswagen was entering Interstate 97 from Maryland Route 100 when he lost control of the car, likely due to rainy conditions. The Volkswagen was then struck by a Nissan SUV.

"He pretty much T-boned him," Parsons said.
