Two-Car Accident Sends Three to Shock Trauma

Two women and a man were taken to the Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore Friday night after being in a two-car accident in Glen Burnie, fire officials said.

An 82-year-old woman, a 73-year-old woman and a 48-year-old man all were taken to Shock Trauma with serious injuries, said Anne Arundel County Fire spokesman Lt. Keith Hamilton.

Police and firefighters responded to the intersection of Ritchie Highway and Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard at about 6:25 p.m. for a reported accident. Once on the scene, firefighters saw that at least one person was trapped in the car, Hamilton said. The door of one of the cars involved had to be removed to get the person out of the car.

Anne Arundel County Police spokesman Lt. Michael Brothers said the intersection was shut down and traffic was diverted for a period of time.
