UPDATE: Police Charge Woman in Glen Burnie Homicide

Investigators said they discovered probable cause in the slaying of Darren Bell in Glen Burnie.

Anne Arundel County police arrested and charged Erica Tywanda Banks, of Glen Burnie, with first-degree murder after officers discovered a man slain in the woods early Sunday, according to a department press release.

Banks, 27, was originally one of three people questioned and arrested near the scene where the body of Darren Bell, 26, was found, police said.

After initial questioning, Banks was released by police. Investigators eventually found what they believe is probable cause in the homicide, which led them to carry out a warrant for Banks's arrest on Friday morning, according to a release.

Police did not specify what substantiated the probable cause, and no other people have been charged.

According to the initial police press release, Banks and Bell had been long time acquaintances.
