Video Shows Suspect in Alleged Vi Ripken Abduction

Police believe the man was in Anne Arundel County and seek the public's help in identifying him.

On Wednesday, police released a composite sketch of the man suspected of last week along with a video that shows the suspect at aย retailย establishment in Anneย Arundel County.

Lt. Fred Budnick with the wrote in an email Tuesday that noย specificย motive has been indentified in the alleged abduction.

"This is still considered to be a forced abduction not related to any medical orย health conditions," Budnick wrote.

Aberdeen police said a man armed with a handgunโ€”described as in his late 30s or early 40s wearing a light colored shirt, camouflageย pants and glassesโ€”forced Ripken into her vehicle between 7 and 8 a.m. July 24. The vehicle fled the area, police said.
