Water Heater Catches Fire at Oil Refinery in Brooklyn Park
Insulation of a water heater, used to warm a fuel tank, caught fire early Wednesday.

The insulation of a water heater caught fire early Wednesday at the Hess Oil refinery in Brooklyn Park, according to the Anne Arundel County Fire Department.
At approximately 1:30 a.m., firefighters responded to the refinery on the 6200 block of Pennington Ave. ItΒ took 90 minutesΒ to gain control of the fire. No injuries were reported.
The water heater that caught fire is 16 feet high by 30 feet long, and is used to warm a fuel tank carrying 1 million gallons of oil, according to AACFD spokesperson Cliff Kooser. The fire caused approximately $5,000 in damages, according to Kooser.
