Woman Charged in Brooklyn Park Hit-and-Run
Police said Michael J. Diegel was seriously hurt when he was struck by a van in Brooklyn Park last week.

Anne Arundel County police said a Severn man was seriously hurt Thursday when he was truck by a van while walking in Brooklyn Park.
Police said Michael J. Diegel was hospitalized with critical injuries, and they have charged the driver of the van with leaving the scene of an accident.
According to police, the incident happened at 12:37 a.m. Thursday at Ritchie Highway northbound near Camrose Avenue. Police arrived at the scene to find Diegel, 57, lying in the roadway with traumatic injuries. He was rushed to the Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.

Police investigated, and determined that Diegel was hit by a gold 2001 Chevrolet Venture. They determined that the driver of the van was Robin L. Sears of Baltimore, and charged her with failing to immediately return and remain at scene of accident involving bodily injury.
