UPDATE: Woman Hit by Truck on Ritchie Highway Dies
Emergency crews found a woman lying on Ritchie Highway while returning from a call.

UPDATE 11 a.m. Nov. 16: Doctors at Harbor Hospital pronounced the pedestrian hit Thursday night dead from injuries after she was hit by a vehicle on Ritchie Highway.
Anne Arundel County police identified the woman as Cheryl Lynn Knick, 57, of Brooklyn Park. Investigators said a GMC pickup truck traveling southbound on Ritchie Highway hit Knick as she was walking on the road outside of a crosswalk.
Police said pedestrian error is the primary cause of the incident, and excessive speed was not a factor. Investigators are also looking into whether excessive window tint in the truck was a contributing factor.
Police did not announce any charges against the driver, a 53-year-old Gambrills man, but the investigation is ongoing.

Shortly after 7:30 p.m., an emergency crew driving up to the Brooklyn Park firehouse, on the 5100 block of Ritchie Highway, discovered the woman lying in the road and immediately began preparing her for transportation to the closest hospital, according to AACOFD spokesperson Keith Hamilton.
The woman went into arrest as medics were responding to her. An ambulance transported the 60-year-old woman to Harbor Hospital in Baltimore with serious life-threatening injuries, according to Hamilton.
