Adopt a Cat: Bonnie the Tortie
It's National Adopt-a-Cat Month, and the Greenbelt Animal Shelter may have just the one for you, the two-year old tortiseshell, Miss Bonnie.
Bonnie the tortie was a stray until a family took her in, but, alas, though little Bonnie loves people, she's not so big on furry companions, so they brought her to the .
I know that makes her a bit harder to adopt, but I can tell you, when I went to visit her on May 26, 2011, she seemed curious and bright -- and gave not one hiss or swat, despite that obnoxious box that kept flashing and going click click to get her picture. "She loves people," Kim DeAngelis, manager of the Greenbelt Animal Shelter, said.
Despite her big heart, Bonnie's still at the shelter this week. I worry with all the little kittens popping up in shelters all across the area this spring, Miss Bonnie may get overlooked, which would be a real shame. Kittens may be easier to find a home for, but Miss Bonnie is still young at 2 and would like a chance for happiness too.

She comes with her shots DeAngelis said, explaining she's had rabies and distemper, plus been dewormed, FIV tested, flea treated and spayed. She's ideal for a home without other animals, in the way of cats or dogs.
I hope before 3, she finds a place to lay her head. Maybe you could consider giving her a chance. Eh?
