Update, 2:17 p.m.: Shortly after 12:30 p.m. Sunday, units from Greenbelt, Branchville, Berwyn Heights and other near-by departments were alerted for smoke coming from an apartment on Parkway; the first arriving units reported smoke showing from the top floor of a three-story apartment building. According to fire officials on the scene, firefighters entered the building and reported a fire in a top floor unit. The fire was extinguished within 10 minutes with no extension to the roof  area. No one was injured and the cause has not yet been determined. Original post, 1:00p.m.: Firefighters are arriving on the scene of an apartment fire at the 1 block of Parkway in Greenbelt. According to an early report, fire could be seen from the third floor. More information to come as this story develops.
