Classic Film Series Features 'North by Northwest' at the Old Greenbelt Theatre
The Old Greenbelt Theatre continues its classic film series Saturday with an Alfred Hitchcock favorite.

Old Greenbelt theatre operator and movie buff, Paul Sanchez, started the monthly classic film series at the on the first Saturday's of each month, hoping to give people a chance to see movies the way they originally debuted. Movies chosen for the series start at noon with matinee prices, all seats being $5
This Saturday it’s Hitchcock’s 1959 “North by Northwest,” starring Carey Grant and Eva Marie Saint. Few breathe the rarified air of suspense as well as Hitchcock, who takes tidy and successful New York advertising executive, Roger Thornhill (Carey Grant) on a journey full of spies, counter spies and intrigue, when he is mistaken for a Federal intelligence man.
Eve Kendall (Eva Marie Saint) joins Thornhill on a series of misadventures that have audiences teetering between laughter and perspiration. But is the lovely Miss Kendall all she appears to be? You’ll have to watch it to find out, and along the way see some spellbinding scenes – including the unforgettable air-to-ground chase of cropduster v. Thornhill. It’s Hitchock at his best.
