Speaking of things green, beginning next week, Metro warns commuters that they may encounter “gators” on patrol in parking garages.
Gators are enclosed golf carts — and these gators are going to be tough on crime. They’re part of a new Metro Transit Police initiative, where parking patrols of Metro employees and police will work like neighborhood watch teams in strategically selected Metro system parking facilities.

Troublemakers beware, these gators are on the alert for suspicious behavior.
Yellow Line Customers Use Green Line North of Mt. Vernon Square
Yellow Line riders, be aware Yellow Line trains will operate between Huntington and Mt. Vernon Square only — 10 p.m. Friday through closing Sunday. Metro states that customers traveling to and from stations north of Mt. Vernon Square should use Green Line trains to complete their trips.
This is a summary of some of Metro's announcements with a focus on the Green Line. Other rail lines have work in store for them as well this weekend. The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority lists further details.
