Obituary: James Lawrence Pinckney, Jr., Greenbelt Pioneer

Pinckney was born in Greenbelt, MD, in 1940.

 

Greenbelt native James Lawrence Pinckney, 71, died unexpectedly Saturday at the Winchester Medical Center in Virginia, according to The Frederick News-Post. 

Pinckney, was born on Nov. 5, 1940 in Greenbelt, but later moved to Shepherdstown, WV, where he most recently resided.

He was the husband of Margaret Pinckney for 24 years, and father to daughter Lisa Pinckney-Dumm and sons—Gregory Pinckney, Charles Pinckney and Daniel Pinckney.

Pinckney donated his body to the Virginia State Anatomical Program for medical research.

No date has been set for his memorial service, but donations can be made in his honor to Blue Ridge Wildlife Center, P.O. Box 326, Millwood, VA 22646.
