Obituary: John W. Abbott, 65

John W. Abbott, 65, of Ocean View, DE, and formerly of Greenbelt, MD, passed away on June 26, 2012 at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin.

He was a member of the Steam Fitters Union Local 602 in DC and had also worked for Kirlin Mechanical Services in Rockville, MD. He was a member of the Mason-Dixon VFW Post 7234 in Ocean View, an enthusiastic golfer and a member of the Indian River Senior Golf League.

He is survived by his wife, Cathy Naylor Abbott, of Ocean View; his son, Brian S. Abbott of Greenbelt; his daughter Amy R. White and her husband Reed of Quakertown, PA; his brother-in-law, Charles Naylor of Glenmont, NY; and two grandchildren, Jared and Rachel White.

A celebration of Abbott’s life will take place in Bethany Beach this fall. Arrangements were by Hastings Funeral Home in Selbyville, DE.
