Principal Seidel is Leaving Greenbelt Elementary

Kimberly Seidel announced Friday, she will no longer be principal at Greenbelt Elementary School.

A few minutes before the school day and year ended on Friday, Kimberly Seidel, announced she will not be returning as principal of Greenbelt Elementary School next year.

Although the end of her four years of service came as a big surprise to many, Seidel said she had been very happy with Greenbelt Elementary but was afforded an opportunity that she couldn't say no to.

She'll still be in Prince George's County but will be transferring to another school in July as principal, according to Seidel. She hasn't announced where the new school will be because there are still some things that need to be done, she said.

Seidel said she sent letters to parents about the change, but explained she decided to announce it at school late Friday, even before she could declare where she was going, because she had to say goodbye to the kids.
