The Fourth of July in Greenbelt

This Greenbelt 2008 video is fantastic. Also, take a look at this year's plans for fireworks, hula hoops, juggling, drums and the Greenbelt Concert Band on Independence Day 2011.

Greenbelt's traditional Fourth of July celebration not only lights up the sky with fireworks, but leading up to the main attraction, we have hula hoops, drums, juggling and a band.

On Monday, July 4, 2011, the fireworks are scheduled to start around 9:30 p.m. at Buddy Attick Park in Greenbelt, 555 Crescent Road.

If you come early, there’s lots more on the schedule to see and do:

If you bring pets, they must be on a leash. But the Greenbelt Police Department has strongly recommended that pets be left at home during the festivities.

The Greenbelt Police Department announced they will have a tent at the event for first aid and to help with lost and missing children, and that it will be located in the grassy area alongside the main parking lot.
