BASEBALL: Warriors Tame Tome

Havre de Grace scored 10 times in the sixth to improve to 2-4.

David Amici had a game-high three RBIs and Andy Meiselwitz and a three-hit day as the Havre de Grace baseball team defeated Tome, 16-9, Wednesday afternoon in Cecil County.

The Warriors exploded for 10 runs in the sixth, rallying from a 9-4 deficit to improve to 2-4.

Logan Poore provided the Warriors with three-plus innings of phenomenal relief after Keith Sifford began to wear down in the fourth, as Tome rallied to take a 9-4 lead.

Poore allowed just three hits and struck out four while walking none in 3.1 innings of work.

Meiselwitz was 3-for-5 with two RBIs and a run scored.

Amici (2-for-5) doubled and led a group of four Warriors with two-hit games.

Dan Jamison was 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs. Zac Patterson was 2-for-5 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored. Sifford (2-for-3) doubled, scored a run and drove in another.

Christian Glassman (1-for-2, RBI) and Luis Nieves-Gonzalez (1-for-5, double and a run) added hits for the Warriors.

Bobby Smith had an RBI and a run scored, while James Smith drove in one run and scored three. Cameron Standiford had a run scored.

The Warriors host the James R. Harris Tournament Saturday at .

hosts Edgewood at 9:30 a.m. and Joppatowne at noon before the Rams and Mariners meet at 2:30 p.m. to cap the round-robin tournament.
