BASEBALL: Warriors Win Harris Tournament

Havre de Grace defeated Edgewood and Joppatowne Saturday.

A tradition that had been plagued by rainouts and Warriors losses in recent years swung in the home team's favor Saturday.

Behind two strong pitching efforts, the baseball team won the James R. Harris Memorial Tournament, sweeping Edgewood and Joppatowne in the three-team, round-robin series at .

Kyle Greskoff gave the Warriors six-plus strong innings in a 9-6 win against Edgewood in Game 1, and Christian Glassman tossed a complete game with 10 strikeouts to clinch the title with a 23-2 win against Joppatowne in the second game.

Greskoff struck out six and walked seven in 6.2 innings. He scattered four hits and five runs—only three earned—to pick up the win. Zac Patterson came on to pick up the save, allowing three singles before recording the game-ending strikeout.

drove in two runs and scored two more in a 2-for-3 performance at the plate. Logan Poore was 2-for-3, as well, scoring once and driving in another run.

Patterson (1-for-4, RBI, run) and Andy Meiselwitz (1-for-4, run) also had productive games to open the tournament. Greskoff drove in a run to support his own cause. 

In the second game, Glassman scattered six hits and a walk amid 10 strikeouts in the five-inning, 10-run-rule victory.

Patterson had three hits, including a double. He also drove in a run and scored three.

Robbie Orzewicz had three singles, three RBIs and two runs scored.

Poore (2-for-3) drove in four runs and scored another, and Keith Sifford (2-for-3) scored four runs.

Luis Nieves-Gonzalez (1-for-2, triple, two RBIs), John Nierwinski (1-for-2), Dan Jamison (1-for-3, RBI, three runs) and Glassman (1-for-4) also had hits in the win.
