A Setback, But Only For This Race

Patch Associate Regional Editor Sean Welsh is picking up running amid an on-the-run schedule. Are you running in the Bulle Rock Turkey Trot?

So late last week I hit a setback.

In preparing for Thursday's Turkey Trot, I pulled/strained/tweaked something in my right foot that made it unbearable to load weight on it while running.

Thus ending my quest to run in my first 5K.

While I won't be running, I'll still be attending. And I'll get back to running once this ache in my right foot goes away.

I'm serious about giving running a real go—maybe so much so that I put too much strain on myself to prepare for the Turkey Trot in a short period of time.

But I'm determined not to let a bad wheel completely sideline me. Thanks for all the encouraging words in the comments here. I'll keep this blog series rolling post-race to document my attempts at getting myself back in shape.

I just need a pit stop—with turkey.

I hope to see you all at the Turkey Trot Thursday morning!
