Candidates To Address Businesses At Luncheon

The candidates for Havre de Grace City Council will have their first public forum in advance of the May 8 election at Thursday's  at the .

Candidates include incumbents Fred Cullum, Bill Martin and Jim Miller, and challengers Dave Glenn, Robert Sawyer, Barry Scharbrough and Joseph Smith.

There's a $17 cost for chamber members, and a $20 cost for non-members. The forum includes lunch.

Fred Cullum
Age: 62
Notes: Currently serving his eighth term on City Council … Served his first term in 1995 … Retired Battalion Chief from the Aberdeen Proving Ground Fire Department … Resident of Havre de Grace since 1968 … Wife’s name is Kathy.

Bill Martin
Age: 38
Notes: Currently serving his second term as Havre de Grace City Council President … History teacher at Aberdeen Middle School … Resident of Havre de Grace since 1992 … Martin and his wife, Taryn, have three children: Devon, Molly and Will.

Jim Miller
Age: 55
Notes: Currently serving as City Councilman … Physical Science Technician at Aberdeen Proving Ground for the Army's 22nd Chemical Command … Served in Iraq and Afghanistan … Daughter is Terran Miller.

David Glenn
Age: 55
Notes: Supervisory management analyst on Aberdeen Proving Ground … Longtime community volunteer and coach … Member of the Havre de Grace Little League Hall of Fame … Resident of Havre de Grace since 1967 … Glenn and his wife, Terri, have two children: Kellie and Shawn.

Barry L. Scharbrough
Age: 47

Joseph C. Smith

The final day for candidates to withdraw from the election is April 3.
